Digital Darkrooms

There are essentially three digital darkroom areas.

  1. The intro level digital lab consist of (20) Macintosh Dual Processor G5 computers with 17" CRT monitors. This lab also contains a B&W laser and Flatbed Scanner. (Other printers can be accessed from this lab but aren't part of the lab)
  2. An Advance level digital lab consisting of 16 Dual Processor G5 Macintosh computers with 17" CRT monitors. This lab also contains a B&W laser and Flatbed Scanner. (Other printers can be accessed from this lab but aren't part of the lab)
  3. Specialized Scanning workstations; This area contains a mix of G4 and G5 Macintosh computers with film scanners including Nikon 4000, Nikon 5000 and the Imacon Flextight film scanner. This area is only available to the Advance level students.
  4. Epson Printers (Currently printing is done using any of seven Epson Ultrachrome printers including 7600, 4000 and 4800 models) - Print jobs are managed using Colorbyte Imageprint software RIP.

Studio

The studio is a large facility, with natural light available from both the North and East sides if desired. The studio can be used as one large studio or it can be divided into 2 to 4 smaller studios. Equipment in the studio includes Bowen mono block lights, Calumet Travelite 705, Speedatron Brownline Power Pack strobes, Chimera soft-boxes and seamless backdrops. The large studio can be divided into four separate sections for smaller shoots with each section having its own seamless backdrop.
